Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi has arrived the team’s camp in Asaba Delta State ahead of their preparation for AFCON 2019 fixed to hold from June 21 to July 20 in Egypt.
Mikel was among the early arrivals in camp along with Leon Balogun, Jamilu Collins, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Semi Ajayi, Samuel Kalu, Oghenekaro Etebo, John Ogu and Victor Osimhen.
However, Francis Uzoho, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi, Ola Aina, Abdullahi Shehu, William Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa, Henry Onyekuru, Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi, Paul Onuachu, Kelechi Iheanacho and Samuel Chukwueze were still being expected as at the time of this report.
Nigeria will face Zimbabwe at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on June 8 before departing Nigeria the next day for Ismaila, Egypt for their final camp ahead of the tournament.
The Eagles’ last pre-tournament friendly is against Senegal, billed for the Ismailia Stadium on June 16.
Nigeria are drawn in Group B of the championship alongside Guinea, Burundi and Madagascar.
