He said this much at a mini-party he held for his constituents at Ejigbo Township Stadium on Friday, South West Editor, JOHN SILAS and CYRIACUS NNAJI reports.
At the party which attracted party bigwigs, traditional leaders and well-wishers, Honourable Idimogu exuded enthusiasm and expressed hope that his second term as a lawmaker would be much fruitful, all to the benefit of his constituents. He stated reasons for the party.
“Officially the 9th Assembly was inaugurated today and I decided to hold a reception, a mini-party for my constituents to show appreciation for giving me the opportunity to represent them for the second time, for voting for me in particular, considering the fact that I am not the son of the soil but the adopted son of the soil,” Idimogu stated.
He thanked God and said he is now a better equipped legislator “I will say by the grace of God; God has been so faithful and marvelous and his grace has been sufficient for me and my family. The party is also to show appreciation to my constituents and for me to also tell them that this second term or the 9th assembly by the grace of God shall be better than the 8th assembly, and not only that; I have been opportune to have adequate training.”
On his plans for the 9th assembly he said, “We have challenges about roads, and I thank God that the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has also instructed the Public Works to ensure that all roads in Lagos State are rehabilitated, this also include my constituency, so we will put pressure on that. A lot will be done in Lagos state”
He spoke on having good rapport with the new governor as he said, “Life is about relationship, Sanwo-Olu I have opportunity of meeting him and campaigning for him, unlike Ambode, so I think I will have a better relationship with the Executive Governor because apart from being a legislator, I am also one of the apex leaders of the Igbos in Lagos, so it gave us the opportunity to meet him personally and to campaign with him. So I think my relationship with him will be much much better and it will be for the benefit of my constituency.”
Idimogu said he would not let his constituents down, adding that he would work for the interest of his constituents and Lagosians as a whole.
Idimogu thanked the party leaders, particularly the Jagaban of Nigerian politics and Leader of the ruling All Progressive Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, LCDA chairmen of Ejigbo and Isolo, “God will continue to bless all of you and also remember to put me in prayer. I also need your support, jointly all of us will work together to achieve success in the constituency.
“I promise you that I am your servant, I am here to work for you, I don’t know it all, I will continue to say it, but with your support and working together we can achieve success.
