From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano
Authorities of Kano state police Command, Friday night confirmed that Femi Oguntumi (40) who resided at Dakata Quarters within Kano metropolis committed suicide by hanging.
According to a statement signed by the Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa and made available to journalists, “on the 14 June, 2919, at about 20:15 P.M, the Police in Kano received a report from Dakata Quarters that one Femi Oguntumi (male), 40 years old, a staff of Karish College, Kawaji, Kano, committed suicide by hanging himself with ceiling fan in his room.
“He was removed from the scent and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where he was confirmed dead.
“The corpse has been deposited at the said hospital. The Commissioner of Police ordered that discrete investigation be carried out to find the cause of this unfortunate incident.”
