…Probe of Ganduje, Kano Emir by EFCC.
From Maurice Okafor, Enugu.
The spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide, the apex body of all Igbo socio cultural organizations, Mr Chuks Ibegbu has advocated for a capital punishment of death sentence on all treasury looters, as a measure of curtailing the high rate of corruption and massive looting of the nation’s treasury, especially by our political leaders occupying lofty positions in government.
In a press statement issued in Enugu yesterday, a copy of which was made available to THE AUTHORITY, the Ohanaeze spokes man opined that unless looters of our national treasury are summarily executed. the menace will continue and Nigerians will continue to suffer for it.
Ibegbu also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and Kano state anti-corruption agency to probe the current corruption imbroglio in Kano state between Governor Ganduje and Emir Sanusi of Kano. He cautioned that the matter should not be swept under the carpet if the APC led federal government is serious in it’s fight against corruption.
“HRH Mallam Sanusi should tell the world what really happened on the allegations against him and not keep quiet.Else , people will think the allegations are true. Let him open up so that the world will know the truth and the devil will be shamed”, Ibegbu asserted.
The Ohanaeze spokes man afvised Ndigbo worldwide to participate fully in the forthcoming World Igbo Security and Peace Summit ,scheduled for Enugu, soon.
Ibegbu condemned the agitation of a separate state of Biafra by various pro Biafra activists stating that what Ndigbo need is Biafran of the mind. He warn all miscreants who extort money from Ndigbo, on the camouflage of Biafra to desist from such as they would meet their waterloo if they continue such mischief.
