The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has described flurry of attacks by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists as being induced by foreign collaborators.

MNJTF Spokesman, Colonel Timothy Antigha stated this in an update of the clearance operation conducted in Doron Naira.

Antigha said that 17 AK 47 Riffles, 2 X GPMG, 1 X LMG, 3 X AA Guns, 2 X 81MM Mortar, 1 X RPG Tubes and 2 X RPG7 40MM bombs with Chargers was recovered from the terrorists.

According to him, other items recovered from the terrorists include 2 X Boxes of 12.7MM ammunition, 323 X RDS OF 7.62MM, 3 X Hand Grenades, Gas Cylinders and IED making material.

He further said that ISWAP ammunition dump in Doron Naira was destroyed.

“It is imperative to also mention that the MNJTF is aware of the pressure on ISWAP by its foreign collaborators to deliver on the Caliphate, hence the flurry of ISWAP inspired attacks of the last couple of weeks on both military and soft targets.

“However, the MNJTF working with national forces is determined to thwart the effort to make the Lake Chad Area a sanctuary for terrorists,” he added.
