The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has said that only the best hands will be picked for the 12th All Africa Games (AAG) scheduled to hold in Morocc from August 19-31, 2019.
President of the federation, Engineer Ishaku Tikom, who made this known at the ongoing All Africa Games trials holding at the knockup hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, said that players will be selected based on current form.
According him, 10 male and 10 female players will be selected at the end of the trials for close camping just as he explained those selected joined by the foreign-based players for the finam preparations ahead of the Games.
“We’re organising this trials to get the best male and female ping pongers that will represent the country at the forthcoming All Africa Games holding in Morocco later in the year.
“This trials will give every Nigerian player ample opportunity to fight for a place in the team. At the end trial 10 male and 10 female players will be invited for closing with invited foreign-based players,” he said.
“We’re going this to ensure that we get the best hands that will challenge for honours in Morocco. And I’m happy with the turn out and the level competitiveness among the players and hopeful those that will make the final team will make Nigerians proud in Morocco,” added..
