The Asaigbo Foundation, and Global Peace and Sustainability Network, have signed a partnership deal aimed at eliciting good working relationship between the two reputable Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO’s).
A statement issued yesterday by Hon. Dan Opara, director of publicity, Asaigbo Foundation, and made available to The AUTHORITY, said that part of the deal which was signed during an epoch-making event at the weekend in Abuja, includes the decoration of Queen Serah Ukasoanya, as the Global Peace Ambassador.
The statement states that Global Peace and Sustainability Network, an UN-sponsored organization, vowed to support Asaigbo Foundation in all its programmes, especially the forthcoming launching of Asaigbo Cancer Care Initiatives scheduled to hold on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Owerri, the Imo state capital.
The Chairman of Global Peace and Sustainability Network, Chief Longers Anyanwu, praised Prince Mike Akubueze, the President of Asaigbo Foundation, for his doggedness, perseverance, passion and dedication in helping the less privileged people in the society.
Chief Longers who is also a recipient of Igbo Merit Award and Chairman of 2016 edition of Miss Asaigbo Beauty Pageant /Igbo Merit Award, recalled that he keyed into Asaigbo vision when he discovered that Prince Akubueze was passionate about sustaining and promoting Igbo culture and tradition.
He said he was not surprised at seeing Prince Akubueze relate with important personalities in the society, saying that after all, Prince Akubueze is ‘Nwata Kwochaa Aka’ of Igbo land.
Chief Anyanwu noted that his organisation’s association with Asaigbo Foundation, would facilitate its recognition by the United Nations.
In his own contribution, Mr. Ferdinand Ohalee, vice chairman /executive director, Strategic Communication of Global Peace Sustainability Network, thanked Asaigbo Foundation for accepting to partner with the organization.
He thanked especially Queen Serah Ukasoanya for accepting to be the Global Peace Ambassador despite her tight schedule.
Both organizations pledged to contribute cash, ideas and human resources to ensure the success of the forthcoming official launching of Asaigbo Cancer Care Initiatives.
Responding, Prince Akubueze, said he was overwhelmed with the accolades and positive recognition by a very reputable NGO like Global Peace and Sustainability Network.
He thanked Chief Longers for his kind support and assistance over the years, and prayed God to continue blessing him, his family and organisation.
He promised not to relent in championing the course of Ndi Igbo in the context of a united, peaceful country, Nigeria.
The Global Peace Ambassador, and the 2019 Asaigbo Queen, Queen Serah Ukasoanya, thanked the Almighty God for finding her worthy to be used to promote world peace, as well as establishing a cancer initiative.
Queen Ukasoanya said that as one adept in multitasking, she will combine the two roles and perform satisfactorily to the admiration of all.
The highlight of the event was the official presentation of the Global Peace Ambassador certificate to Queen Serah Ukasoanya, and induction /decoration of the duo.
