Kogi begins airlift of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia July 15

The kogi state Hajj Commission has said that it would commence the airlifting of Kogi pilgrims from the Nnamdi Azekiwe International Airport, Abuja for the 2019 Holy Pilgrimage to Makkah, on 15 July, 2019.

In a statement signed by the Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Abdulrahman and made available to journalists in Lokoja, said all intending pilgrims are expected to report at the Hajj Commission premises in Lokoja on Sunday 14th July, 2019 by 10.00am for the commencement of their journey .

The statement added that pilgrims would be moved to the Government House Lokoja to be addressed by the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello before proceeding to the Hajj camp in Abuja.

According to Abdulrahman, adequate transport arrangements have been put in place by the state Government for the smooth movement of pilgrims to the Abuja Hajj camp.

The commission also reminded all pilgrims to appear in their uniform and warned against carrying prohibited drugs, liquid food items, metallic objects saying that security agents would be very thorough at the screening point as directed by the federal government.

The commission also warned that no family members of the pilgrims would be allowed entrance into the busses provided for the pilgrims or at the gate of the Hajj camp Abuja.

It would be recall that the kogi state Hajj Commission had earlier carried out screening of the intending pilgrims, Sensitization programmes for pilgrims, Medical fitness test and issuance of basic traveling items like uniform and 8kg hand luggage bag among other items.
