A Christian faith-based non governmental organisation, “Blessing Mankind” has outrightly declared that reaching out to the needy, especially those afflicted by illnesses does not stop at ministering to only Christian faithfuls as it cuts across all religions, tribes and is without borders.
Blessing Mankind has targeted treatment of over 600 persons in Lafia with diverse afflictions. They have said their mission is all about demonstrating the love of God to all man kind within their community at a no-cost charge, where those interested will be treated free after a vigorous medical analysis to ascertain one’s level of sickness.
The NGO stormed Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital with a team of medical experts from the United states of America, the United Kingdom and Nigeria who are specialists in various fields of medical science, with drugs that attracted the attention of both Christian and Muslims numbering well over 200 on the first day who were attended to on Monday at the Nurses House. The event continued on Tuesday as well.
Largely,those who have so far attended to according to the Chief Operating Officer, are people who are suffering from eye problems and various other ailments alongside with some who require surgery. Yet others will be referred for special attention at choice hospitals at the expense of the NGO.
Commenting the Chief operations officer,pastor Muriel Achimugu, said the essence of the medical out reach was centered on sharing and meeting the needs of the less previlage around in any community.
According to her the church arm of takes responsibility and the sponsorship of the free medical out reach.
She said ” We left the united States with the mission to ensure some of our people in the rural community, who are indisposed and deprived of getting help can be reach at no cost.
” Since we started on Monday we have touched lives,spiritually and materially too.So far about 200 persons suffering from different ailments have been treated after running the necessary medical test” She said.
In another contribution,Reverend Arome Adah,the chairman of Savannah Ministries,said apart from reaching out scientifically, as a church,the first priority on our mission is to preach the love of Christ to all.
Reverend Arome, emphasis on unbiased and sentiments as was the practice by some organisations ,saying both Christian and Muslims are treated alike.
The AUTHORITY report that free drugs readily available for distribution to over 200 person diagnosed and confirmed of a particular aliment.
About 10 Doctors were on ground attending to people found of hypertension, typhoid fever, eye problems and minor surgeries.
