In a bid to ensure good service delivery to end users, and ensure resellers keep up with trends in the satellite communication industry, for optimal customer satisfaction, the Nigerian Communications Satellite LTD, NigComSat has engaged its resellers on Ka-Band V-Sat configuration training to enlighten resellers who take its services to end users on the modalities and technicalities of its customer premises equipment V-Sat configuration to deliver broadband services and other allied services.
Speaking on Tuesday during its second Ka-Band VSAT installation training for its trade partners in Abuja, the Executive Director Business development, Mr Samson Osagie said the annual event is paramount to check the complaints of customers which usually revolves around poor and inadequate installation of the equipment thus the need to train resellers on how to reduce installation time through various new installation techniques as well as international certifications in the VSAT industry..
Osagie explained that the hands-on training was meant for their resellers, technicians and engineers who otherwise were not verse in deployment of satellite communication services.
‘‘We have observed over time that most of the customers’ complaints are as a result of poor and inaccurate installation of the equipment hence the need for this training. In the course of the training today, installers will be opportuned to gain more knowledge about NigComSat limited, its footprints and product offerings.
‘‘It is part of our Customer Service Strategy to ensure that our service delivery at the end of the day is top class for our ultimate customers. That is the essence of this annual training programmes for our resellers. We have also had some other private installers, who are seeking to learn from what we doing with a view to reach out to some other resellers in their various jurisdictions, so that we can expand our market.
‘‘We feel that while we take care of the technical issues at the back end of the company, we are also interested in ensuring that those who install the customer premises equipment or the V-Sat are properly guided on the modalities for deploying those services.’’
Osagie further averred that the Executive Order 5, EO5 on Local content offers them an advantage as indigenous company. ‘‘Our responsibility is to tap from the EO5 to expand our market as local and indigenous satellite company. It is a few market and competition is allowed. These are all strategies to up our game in order to remain competitive,’’.
In his own remarks, the Executive Director, Technical Services, NigComSat, Kaseem Kolawole, who said the organization is still working on the proposed back up satellite,said the training is an avenue for job creation for teeming Nigerian youths who are unemployed adding that it will help the installers to provide good quality of service to end users.
He said, ‘‘We have gone beyond physical stuff, we as well do point and play app. So, with point and play app you will be able to point at our satellite 42.5 degree east. We see this training as more or less providing job opportunities, direct and indirect job opportunities to Nigerians because quite a lot of our under graduates can latch into this instead of them roaming the streets. they can as well participate and key into the vision of government, providing employment opportunity for Nigerian youths.’’
One of the participants, Abbas Aliagbo of MegaLink Technology, expressed satisfaction with the gesture and promised to replicate the knowledge he acquired from the training.
‘‘I believe at the end of this training, I will also train my colleagues outside and within Nigeria. During the installations, we do face configuration issue. We deal with government agencies, including NigComSat itself and over 1000 other customers.’’
NigComSat is a satellite Communications service provider that offers Ka-Band VSAT services (a satellite broadband services) to its customers.
