The on- going three day football screening exercise organised by 60 Goals Soccer Star for players in Lagos will be rounded up today at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Lagos.
Jane Ndubuisi, National coordinator of the project and FIFA intermediary agent told our correspondent that the exercise which will also hold in 15 other states of the Federation is being organised in conjunction with foreign scouts to enable talented players achieve their aim of playing professional football in Europe.
She listed some of the states where the screening will hold as; Anambra, Imo, Ondo, Delta, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Rivers, Abia, Kaduna, Bauchi ,FCT amongst others.
” We’ re organising this screening with some foreign scouts and seasoned coaches to give opportunity to talented football stars the opportunity to play football at the highest level in some of the big teams in Europe.
” I’ m happy with the massive turn out of players and we’ ve discovered some stars in Lagos and by the time we move to other states from next week, more quality players would be discovered”, she stressed.
She stated that at the end of the screening exercise, 10 players will be chosen from each of the 16 states and they will now go into camping in four centres namely; Ondo, Delta, Sokoto and Akwa Ibom for the final screening.
In his own remarks, ex- junior international, Francis Ikechukwu said the exercise has became necessary in order to give hope to talented players, positing that his outfit is out to encourage players excel in the round leather game.
He appealed to corporate Nigeria to que into the project in order to help Nigerian players achieve their potentials.
