Gov Sule pledges to revive state ailing businesses in Nasarawa

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that state government is poised to revive all the ailing businesses owned by the state government in order boost the economy and to provide employment opportunity to the teeming youths.

Sule stated this on Thursday in Lafia, the state capital, when he opened the Nasarawa Entrepreneurs Summit, anchored by SKDC Global Link Limited.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Barrister Abigail Waya, the governor stated that the government would enroll a lot of initiative to empower the people of the state.

He said that the summit has come at the right time when the government is working hard to revive its ailing businesses to reposition them in order to develop the economy of the state.

“The summit has come at the right time where the state government under my watch is working towards reviving so many of its ailing businesses.

“We as a government would also create and enabling environment for young entrepreneurs to strive and remain in business for the overall development of the state”, the governor added.

He added that the state is endowed with a lot of mineral resources, but technical and managerial skills is lacking and the government would partner any organisation with the view of bridging the link.

He noted that recently government assembled a team of professional experts who are to serve as advisory council for Investment and Economic Development in the state.

The governor however added that government would also facilitate easy access of credits and grant to enable intending entrepreneurs set up business and sustain it.

In a goodwill message, the Nasarawa State Executive Chairman, Internal Revenues Services Board, Mr. Ahmed Yakubu Muhammad said the initiative for the summit was a pointer to the fact that entrepreneur in the state regardless of their statues are mindful of adding value to the development of the state economy

Earlier, Stella Ajige, Nasarawa State Coordinator of SKDC, said that the programme was aimed at developing the capacity of the entrepreneurs with the view of assisting them identify opportunities to create wealth.
