As Nigeria celebrates her 59th independence anniversary, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, has urged leaders at all levels to seek and pursue the welfare of citizens.
The Governor in a goodwill message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka, noted with concern the plights of Nigerians 59 years after gaining political independence.
He, therefore, urged those in leadership positions to use their privileged positions to better the lots of the citizenry who he said deserve better living standard.
The Governor also used the occasion to felicitate Nigerians over the anniversary which he described “as yet another opportunity for Nigerians to thank God for the privilege of nationhood and to rededicate ourselves to those worthy ideals of building a nation that is stronger and more united.”
Ikpeazu congratulated the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and all leaders in the country across all levels “on this milestone.”
The release further read :”The Governor especially wishes the good people of Abia State a restful and joyous Independence Holidays while assuring our people that he remains committed to the relentless quest of a better life for the people of Abia State.”
