Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministries (MFM) basketball team have set their eyes on a successful outing at the coming FIBA Africa Club Championship holding at Palais des Sports Mahamasima, Madagascar from December 6-15.

Both MFM of Lagos and Air Warriors of Abuja will be flying Nigeria flag at the continental club Championship following their impressive performances in the Final 8 of the just concluded 2019 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League, where they emerged as runners-up and winners respectively.

MFM coach, Akinwunmi Aderemi told The Authority in a post match interview moments after watching his girls loss to Air Warriors 57-53 in a keenly contested final of the 2019 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League, that they have learnt a lot from their mistakes at the final 8 and hope to make amend for a better performance at the 2019 FIBA Africa Women’s Champions Cup .

“Our focus is now on the continental club championship, we’re going to do our best. We made a lot of mistakes here at the Final 8 and we’ve seen them. We’re going to sit down to work it out and make sure that we succeed,” he said.

Though MFM missed the title by whiskers, Coach Aderemi still gave his girls part on the back for their competitiveness.

“I’m not disappointed with the result. We came here to play our best but our best was not enough to give us the win. But I’m impressed with the way my girls came out to play. So losing with four points was not a bad performance.

“The most important thing is that we’ve qualified for the Africa club championship. So we’re very okay and we look forward to do well in the competition ” added.
