Hell was let loose in Benin City, Edo State, yesterday, August 20, 2019, when a man, Tunde Alile, caught his wife, Mary Alfred, in an act suspected to be lesbianism.
According to an eyewitness, the man Tunde Alile, came back from work only to see his wife Mary and her friend fondling themselves, an act which to the people in the area, was a sacrilege.
The eyewitness who spoke in anonymity said when Alile caught the two love birds, in hysteria and confusion, he began to shout and this attracted neigbours who wasted no time in pouncing on the duo and giving them the beating of their lives.
“As they beat them we heard the other girl; that is the friend of Mary, shouting Mary run Mary run. She even forgot one of her shoes as she ran, but Mary could not run obviously because of her children.” He added that when Mary’s friend ran away, the mob continued to beat Mary.
Alile who was visibly infuriated, barred his wife from entering the house and even swore not to take in the children whom he now claimed were not his biological children.
Mary was about to be lynched when a powerful man in the area came o her rescue. The witness said “If not the intervention of one rich man and who is powerful too who came to her rescue she would have been lynched by the angry mob. He was the one who took Mary and the children away.”
The eyewitness also said “The matter has been reported to the police and SARS office in Benin City, they want Mary to come and answer for the crime she committed. Even her father is against her, he wants her to come and pay for her sin of lesbianism so that the sacrilege will not affect the family.
