The All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered a major setback Monday in Zamfara state as it lost over 20,000 members loyal to former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari in Birnin Magaji local Government area, who dumped the broom to embrace the umbrella of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.
The defectors who declared their total support to Zamfara State governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, disclosed that they joined the PDP with a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nura Dahiru Sabon Birnin Dan Ali.
They noted tat thy decided to jopin the PDP in the state, stating that it has become very imperative to join hands together to move the state forward.
“We cannot continue to battle over unnecessary political issues when the state is seriously crying for serious development” he said.
“It is God that gives power, God has given PDP the opportunity to form government in the state for the first time since Nigerians recovered democracy from the military in 1999.” The leader of the defectors said
