Nasarawa Govt cautions Keffi Traders, set to take stiff action

Traders in keffi who have refused to comply with the directives of the Nasarawa state government on relocating to the new site may have themselves to be blame soon.

The state secretary to the government Alhaji Ahmed Tijani handed the warning on Thursday in his office in Mafia during a visit on him by the various heads of the market including the concessioner, and managing director of the market,Alhaji Mohammed Jarume.

He said government can not be cajole by it citizens neither is government afraid of anyone who is always in the act of rebellion with law and order.

The Secretary to the state government, however assured the traders that the is no cause for alarm as in due course ,it will swing into action and make sure all those still operating or trading on the old site in keffi are send packing.

” We are a government that respect the wishes of our citizens ,but that does not mean sleeping over our responsibility and duty as a government.

“The state government has provided a conducive environment for business and traders who are interested in business to cash in on the benevolent of government, which is expected of all meaning citizens to appreciate ,but some people who do not want development have refused to move their goods from the old market in keffi to the new site.

“Let me state here that their continued occupation of the old market may provoke the powers of the government and when that happens they will have themselves to be blame for what ever actions” He said.

The traders who complained over the continues operation by some traders in the old site ,said as a result of of their refusal to vacate the old market has led to none patronage of their goods , for abiding by government directives after securing shops with huge a mounts at the new market.

They however appealed to the government to find ways of reducing the cost of renting the shops and also enforced a law that will make those still trading on the old market to vacate the site ,for the purpose of peace,development and progress.

Earlier the Chairman of the traders association,Mallam Mairabo and the the Managing director Sanada Nigeria Limited ,who is the concessioner, Alhaji Mohammed Jumare said they are on the same page with the state government.
