Lassa: NSG on early preventive measure quarantine 1 victim

Quick preventive measure by the Nasarawa state government has been instituted across Tertiary and secondary health care facilities, towards averting the spread of lassa fever out break in the state.

The necessary action was taken based on the state ministry of health discovery of the disease outbreak in Mararaba Gurku of karu local government area,Nasarawa state.

Revealing it position so far taken that would prevent the escalation of the deadly disease, the commissioner of health ,Pharmacist Mohammed Baba Yahaya said the ministry is not unaware of the resurfacing of the lassa fever disease ,which has recorded a fast spread in some states neighbouring Nasarawa state.

According to him” We are aware of the outbreak and have taken caution able measures,by deploying doctors ,tools and ensured dictative strategies.

“Right ahead of time,we have ensured that Dalhatu specialist hospital as our major center is well stock with the necessary drugs and kits are properly deployed as well as other secondary health facilities in the state”He said.

The commissioner, however revealed that at the moment a case of one person at mararaba gurku was recorded and the victim fast under going treatment, while he has directed that the place is quarantine.

He assured that measures are taken already to prevent further spread,he cautioned citizens to making sure that row food items be kept clean,bush burning be stopped and washing of hands is regular.
