Kano state Governor, Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Saturday hinted that the foundation laying ceremony of the Court of Appeal building in Kano will hold on today, expressing optimism the presence of Appellate Court in of Kano will ensure speedy delivery of justice.
Gandujewho inspected the ongoing proposed Court of Appeal construction project in AuduBako secretariat, assured that with the Court in Kano, justice is brought nearer to people.
According to him, “the work here I can see is moving very fastly, almost 24 hrs in the past one week. This is done to show our unrelenting commitment towards this all-important project.”
Ganduje commended the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Bulkachuwa pointing out that, “when we first put our request to the President Court of Appeal that we needed Court of Appeal here, the request was graciously accepted and approved. So with this development it means justice is brought nearer to the people.”
He recalled how people were facing hectic experiences when attending Kaduna Division of Court of Appeal, that, the project would ease such experiences when completed.
Ganduje further disclosed that, “the foundation laying of the project would take place on Monday. The work must continue to be on 24 hours. We should not disappoint the President of the Court of Appeal.
“When completed, many states, not only Kano would find recipe in taking their cases to Court of Appeal, Kano Division. States like Katsina, Jigawa, up to Yobe and other states.”
Mr. Steven Akinyede, who is the Deputy Registrar of the Court of Appeal Benin Division, commended Ganduje on behalf of the President of the Court, saying “our President of the Court, Hon. Justice ZainabBulkachuwa CFR is happy about this work by the state government.”
This, according to him, would go a long way to ensure effective dispensation of justice by the Court of Appeal and would help much in decongesting the Kaduna Division of the Court.
The Deputy Registrar of Kaduna Division of the Appeal Court, HajiyaAmina Ibrahim was also at the event, along with other senior officials from Kaduna Division.
