Bishop Okeke marks 73rd birthday

ISAAC OJO writes that the priests center, a pet project of the bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Hillary Okeke became a beehive of activities as the prelate celebrated his seventy third birthday.

In his homily at the occasion, Msgr. HypoliteAdigwe thanked God for the life of the celebrant, Bishop Okeke.

He noted that the prelate’s commitment and passion for the upliftment of the diocese spiritually and physically has become a big challenge and inspiration for everyone in the diocese.

Msgr. Adigwe however pointed out that there is great need to appreciate the mother of the prelate who brought him into the world seventy three years ago and trained him well.

The Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano who was accompanied to the occasion by his commissioners and the state chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) congratulated Bishop Okeke on his seventy third birthday noting that the prelate by all standards is not looking his age which he said is an indication of God’s favour.

He also used the occasion to solicit the support of the church in the campaign for fire safety in Anambra State.

The Chancellor of the diocese, Rev. Fr. Hygi Aghaulor who moderated the occasion paid glowing tribute to the celebrant who according to him is a very good model to people in and outside the church.

Engr. Ajulu Uzodike was the chairman of the birthday celebration.
