Ohanaeze expels Secretary-General, Former Youth leader

The apex body of all Igbo Socio cultural Organizations, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has expelled it’s suspended Secretary General, Mr Uche Okwukwu and a former President of it’s Youth wing,Mr Chris Isiguzoro,over their actions and utterances alleged to be inimical to the whims and caprices of the organization.

A press statement made available to news men in Enugu yesterday evening by the National publicity secretary of the organization,Prince Uche Achi Okpaga said their expulsion was ratified during the ‘Imeobi’ meeting which is the highest decision making of the organization,held on Sunday,February 10,at Nike lake hotel ltd,Enugu.

He disclosed that a motion to the effect was moved by Chief Damian Okeke, the President of the Anambra chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, stating that both Uche Okwukwu and Chris Isiguzoro Isiguzoro now constitute unmitigated embarrassment to the organisation through their actions and utterances and should be expelled.

He gave an instance of how Mr Okwukwu’s disregard to the stand of Ndigbo to endorse the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2019 presidential elections, former Vice-President Alhaiji Atiku Abubakarand his running mate, Mr Peter Obi, and his unguarded utterances against the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

He also recounted how Mr Okwuwu invaded Ohanaeze NEC meeting with truck loads of fierce-looking and battle ready mobile policemen and insisted he was still the National Secretary General even after he had been suspended, to the utter consternation of NEC members.

On Mr Isiguzoro, Chief Okeke enumerated several times Isiguzoro issued press statements that were in contrary to the stand of Ohanaeze Ndigbo even after he had ceased to be the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, his tenure having expired more than three years ago.

Seconding the motion, the Deputy National Treasurer, Chief Eric Ebeh, concurred that the two persons constitute an embarrassing nuisance to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and should be expelled to avoid further intemperate actions from them.

Chief Ebeh added that both Okwukwu and Isiguzoro should be warned to desist from parading themselves as members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

In a unanimous decision, the Imeobi of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide approved the expulsion of Messers Uche Okwukwu and Chris Isiguzoro and asked members of the public to discountenance any further reases and utterances from the discredited individuals.
