WACS: Kebbi records 95 % in free medical outreach

The free surgical outreach program, a partnership program between the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) and the Kebbi State Government which commenced on 9th of February, targeting 200 patients, has ended with 95 per cent success.

The Kebbi State Commissioner of Health, Hon. Ja’afar Mohammed Zuru, made the disclosure at a closing ceremony of the program at the Kebbi Medical Center, Kalgo.

He noted that 295 patients were treated successfully and were receiving medications at their various domains.

He thanked the state government and the surgeons from WACS for considering Kebbi State as one of the areas for service to humanity.

Speaking earlier, Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, represented by her Special Adviser on (Women) Hajiya Zahra’u Atiku Wali, said the exercise recorded significant impact especially on the lower class of people who cannot afford to pick their medication bills.

Speaking, the Director Medical Services, Kebbi State Ministry of Health, Dr. Shehu Mohammed Koko said the partnership had provided opportunity to inspire the young people to be more professional in their duties.
