Police In Search Of Gunmen Who Killed Health Worker, Son of Woman Politician In Kano

From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano

The Inspector-General of Police Operation Puff Adder attached to Kano state Police Command are currently combing the nooks and crannies of Bagwai Local Government Area, Kano, in search of unknown gun who struck Monday night, killing two and leaving few others injured.

Security and private investigations are yet to ascertain the reason behind the night gun attack which occurred in an open place.

The AUTHORITY reports that unknown gun men, said to have arrived on a private car, opened fire in a night market at Galawa village in Bagwai Local Government Area.

Eyewitness account has it that the gun men operated in Commando style, unleashing terror on innocent citizens.

The AUTHORITY learnt that the son of a top woman politician in the area, Hajia Balaraba Sani, was among the unlucky two who died as a result of bullet wounds from the smoking guns of the dreaded gun men.

It was also gathered that very unfortunately, a 35-year old health worker in Bagwai Local Government Council was also killed by the gun men.

Eyewitness account further revealed that the incident occurred within a popular Fish Kiosk called Friday.

Confirming the incident in a brief Statement, the image-maker of Kano state Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna said, “on the 02/03/2020 at about 2245hrs, we received a report that unknown Armed Men entered in to Galawa Village in Bagwai LGA Kano State and attacked two persons in their shops.

“In the process, they shot sporadically and stray bullets injured Three (3) persons. Victims were rushed to Bichi General Hospital where Two (2) died while receiving treatment.

“On our prompt response, the hoodlums took to their heels.

“The command’s Commissioner of Police CP Habu A. Sani, psc immediately further deployed Tactical Teams of Operation Puff Adder to trail and arrest the culprits.”
