Ado Bayero’s Son, Aminu, Emerges New Emir Of Kano

The Emir of Bichi, His Highness, Aminu Ado Bayero has been appointed as the new Emir of Kano.

Recall that Aminu Ado Bayero, son of the late reverted Emir of Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Ado Bayero, was a major contender of the stool of the Kano Emirate in 2014, when his father died.

But the dethroned Emir Sanusi Muhammad 11 was preferred by the then Governor of Kano state, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.

Announcing the new Emir of Kano on Monday, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Usman Alhaji said Aminu Ado Bayero’s appointment followed a resolution emanating from the state Executive Council meeting.

He added that subsequent to recommendations by the four Kano Kingmakers and approval by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero was duly appointed the new Emir of Kano.

He said the appointment was in line with Section 11 (1) of the Kano Emirate Council Law 2019, following the deposition of former Emir of Kano, Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who has now been exiled to Nasarawa State.

The AUTHORITY reports that the four Kano kingmakers namely Alhaji Mutari Adnan (Sarkin Bai Kano), Alhaji Abdullahi Sarkin Yola, Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani Cigari and Alhaji Bello Abubakar, Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta, were all resent during Aminu Ado Bayero’s announcement as the new Emir of Kano.

Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, a graduate of Mass Communication held the positions of District Head of Dala Local Government Area, Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida, Chiroman Kano, later Crowned Emir of Bichi, before his latest appointment as Emir of Kano.

The AUTHORITY reports that his appointment elicited jubilation as the admirers of his late father, Emir Abdullahi Ado Bayero believe that Emir Aminu Ado Bayero’s appointment brings good omen to Kano Emirate.
