Guber aspirant tasks mothers on Godliness at home

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant for the Anambra State 2021 governorship election, Ugwumba Osumenyi, Dr Ifedi Okwenna has called on mothers to lead the way in returning our families to the path of Godliness.

The former Commissioner for Environment, Mineral Resources, Science and Technology in the Peter Obi led administration, made this call at the 13th Diocesan Women Conference of the Diocese of Mbamili, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion held at the Cathedral of St. Michael, Umuikwu-Anam in Anambra West LGA of Anambra state.

Dr. Ifedi Okwenna, represented by his Special Adviser, Chief Ray Ifeme, urged mothers to assume their rightful position as the custodians of the family.

“What our households need now is return to the path of Godliness, and our mothers are to lead to this turn around. Our families are losing those distinguishing ethical norms that help in moulding our children.

This abysmal order is responsible for the increase in crime and criminalities in our society at large,” Dr. Okwenna posited.

The Anambra State governorship hopeful who was the special guest of honour at the event, called on mothers to help create homes that are supportive of good ethical conducts and morals.

Host president and wife of the Bishop, Mrs Julie Okeke, thanked Dr. Ifedi Okwenna for identifying with them, and prayed for God’s grace and protection to see him through in the Anambra state governorship election, in his quest to reposition Anambra state come 2021.

The conference was presided over by Mrs. Julie Okeke (Nne-Ife), wife of the bishop and attended by government functionaries, provincial presidents of the Anglican women ministers, Mrs Marta Chioma Ibezim, wives of bishops, diocesan presidents, women ministries of Mbamili Diocese, resource persons, and delegates from the South East.

Highlights of the conference were soul refreshing church Service by His Lordship, Rt. Rev Henry S.O Okeke, Bishop of Mbamili Diocese, goodwill speeches, dance, drama etc.
