Minister empowers over 3,000 pupils

As part of his decision to give back to the society, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, has distributed education materials to over 3,000 pupils in some primary schools in Enugu State.

The beneficiaries include those from Women Training College (WTC) Primary School Enugu; Udi Premier Primary School, Udi; Central School, Eke; St Paul’s Primary School, Eke,among others.

The donations were made on behalf of “Kwusike Foundation” a pet project of Mr Geoffrey Onyeama.

Mr Flavour Eze, a director in the Foundation, who delivered the materials on behalf of Foreign Affairs Minister, stated that “we shall continue to support our children and will soon roll out a bursary award programme for our indigent students in higher education institutions”.

He said the Foundation had equally mentored over sixty primary school teachers on the best way to teach for the sake of enthroning improved quality of education in the state.

Eze stated that Kwusike Foundation under the watch of Mr Geoffrey Onyeama has will put in place a human capacity training for over 300 indigenes of Enugu state on Cosmetology, Baking, Welding, Hair Dressing, among other skills, so they can be self employed and gradually become employers of labour.

He said the Foundation is also planning a microcredit empowerment programme on agriculture for youths in the state so they can make a fortune from agro-allied Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
