JAMB: NSCDC parades 4 over exam malpractice

From Francis Nansak,Lafia

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has paraded four boys for their alleged involvement in examination malpractice in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Parading the boys at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, the Commandant, Mamud Fari , said the four were arrested in four different centres in the state during the UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

He said the Corps would prosecute the suspects to serve as deterrent to others, saying the implication of engaging in the act of exams malpractices attracts 21 years imprisonment as enshrined in the law.

“After parading them we will arraign them before a competent court of law. And as you are aware, the law stipulates that if found guilty of the offense they will be jailed for 21 years.

“You can imagine that this young men are people we are supposed to look up to as leader of tomorrow, but have decided to engage themselves in criminal activities at the early stage of the lives, how can we trust them with the future?” The commandant queried.
