COVID-19: Kano CP Vows To Prosecute Violators Of Boarder Closure, Social Restriction Order

Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Habu A. Sani has cautioned residents against violation of social restriction order, just as he vowed to ensure arrest and prosecution of travellers who illegally penetrate into Kano despite the boarder closure measures.

Habu who went round Kano boarder points on Friday tasked security agencies manning the entry points to show patriotism, adding that they have no reason to compromise their assignment no matter who ever that is involved.

The police boss also urged residents to maintain social distancing and strictly observe the guidelines as stated by the Federal and state Ministries of Health, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, World Health Organization (WHO) and other relevant bodies, as the fight against COVID-19 remains everybody’s business.

He also enjoined Kano residents to stay indoors and stay safe while celebrating the Easter festivities, as doing so will go a long way in helping to curb the menace of the deadly Corona Virus pandemic.

The Crime Buster added that in continuation of the Command’s effort to ensure strict compliance to orders on Boarder closure and Social Restriction, he has engaged in routine and unscheduled visits to all boarder points across the state, pointing out that from what he has seen so far, security agents on duty posts have been up and doing.

While addressing the police officers, medical teams and other security agencies at the boarder posts, CP Habu Sani, otherwise called Kalamu-Waheed in Kano, urged them to exhibit high level of professionalism in carrying out their duties.

He also tasked them to ensure that the rights of Nigerians are not infringed as they are duty bound to uphold fundamental human rights, while ensuring that citizens do things according to the law.

“The Command wishes all our christian brothers and sisters in the state a blessed Easter celebrations. I enjoin the general public to remain law abiding and report any suspicious person, persons or item to the nearest Police station,” he added.

He urged the good people of the state to continue to cooperate with the police and other security agencies, adding that, “in case of any emergency, cantact the Command via the following lines: 08032419754, 08123821575, 09029292926.”

Other senior officers in CP Habu’s Boarder Patrol Team include the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Sule Balarabe, ACP Abubakar Abdullahi Shika and all the Area Commanders of Kano State Police Command.
