Education Minister’s mother dies at 109

Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has lost his mother to the cold hands of death.

Hajiya Fatima Adamu Baaba died at the ripe age of 109 years in the wee hours of Friday.

In a terse statement, posted on Education’s Ministry’s Press Social Media platform (Whatsapp) on Friday, the Minister’s mother was said to have left behind six children.

The statement by the Director of Press at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, Mr Ben Bem Goong, said the deceased would be laid to rest on Friday according to Islamic rites.

“Mother of the Education Minister, Adamu Adamu, Hajiya Fatima Adamu Baaba is dead.

“The Minister confirmed that her mother died in the early hours of this morning. Burial is about now taking place at Azare in Bauchi State in accordance with Muslim rites. Other details will come your way in the course of proceedings.Ben Bem Goong. Director, Press, Federal Ministry of Education.

“Hajiya Fatima Adamu Baaba was aged 109. She is survived by six children, three males and three females, including the Minister, Adamu Adamu,” the statement said.
