Senator Theodore Orji representing Abia Central senatorial district, has donated 300 bags of rice, and 1200 cartons of indomie noodles as stimulus package to help his constituents cushion the biting effect of the covid -19 lockdown.

The former governor in a press statement signed by his Chief Liaison Officer, Hon. Ifeanyi Umere, said the palliative was borne out of his concern over the plight of his constituents especially the less privileged amidst the coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging humanity.

He expressed worry that “if this precarious situation lingers”, many families might find it difficult to feed.

Senator Orji however, urged his constituents not to lose hope but observe the necessary protocols including social distancing and personal hygiene so as to remain safe.

He also urged them to comply with every directive by government towards stemming the spread of the pandemic, expressing hope that solution will soon be found for the global pandemic.

According to a statement, the stimulus from the senator will, Monday, be delivered to the council headquarters of all six Local Government Areas in the senatorial district for onward distribution to the vulnerable ones in all the communities in the zone.

“To this end ward/community leaders in this local councils are expected to be at their council headquarters on Monday 27th of April, to take delivery of their own palliatives meant for the vulnerable in their villages”, the statement said.

It further read :”The local government chairmen are expected to give each ward/community leaders five bags of beans and twenty cartons of indomie for onward distribution to the less privileged in their areas”.
