Anambra Police nab 3 armed robbery suspects at Nkpor

Anambra State Police Command has nabbed an armed robbery syndicate of three at Nkpor, Idemmili north council area.

The group of three, who are in their early twenties had on February twenty-fourth, 2020 lured one Pastor Uche Iheme, 41, from Awomama in Imo state to a location behind First Bank, Oye-olisa, Ogidi and dispossessed him of his Toyota Rava 4 car with registration number, G-R-E-1-7-0-A-A, a Samsung J4 mobile phone, and a cash sum of five-thousand- U.S dollars.

According to statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Haruna Mohammed on behalf of the Commissioner for Police, Mr. John Abang, the suspects Emeka Onyeoma, 20, Chidiebele Amaluka, 21 and Ikechukwu Ezenwokolo, 20, were nabbed at different locations at Nkpor axis within the week by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad , SARS of the command.

In the statement, Mr. Mohammed explained that the suspects shot the victim on his left limb and left him unconscious in the pool of his blood and fled.

Mr. Mohammed further revealed that investigations led to the arrest of thirty year old Abuchi James of Mgbuka market Obosi, who received the car, totally dismantled it and sold out as spare parts except the engine, which was recovered by the police.

Apart from the car engine, also recovered from the armed robbers was a Berretta pistol with three rounds of point-nine-millimetre ammunition.

The Command in the statement revealed that more investigations into the matter have since commenced and the suspects will soon be charged to Court for prosecution.
