Covid-19: Nigeria records 248 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Sunday night announced 248 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,399.

The NCDC also announced 33 recoveries and 15 deaths recorded all through Sunday.

According to NCDC in its official Twitter handle, “248 new cases of #COVID19, Lagos recorded 81 new cases, followed by Jigsaws with 35 cases, 26-Borno, 26-Kano, 20-Bauchi, 13-FCT, 12-Edo, 10-Sokoto.

Other cases were 7-Zamfara, 4-Kwara, 4-Kebbi, 2-Gombe, 2-Taraba, 2-Ogun, 2-Ekiti, 1-Osun, 1-Bayelsa.

They also announced that 778 persons were discharged and 143 dead.
34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID19.

“The 248 new cases were reported from 17 States of: 81-Lagos, 35-Jigawa, 26-Borno, 26-Kano, 20-Bauchi, 13-FCT, 12-Edo, 10-Sokoto, 7-Zamfara, 4-Kwara, 4-Kebbi, 2-Gombe, 2-Taraba, 2-Ogun, 2-Ekiti, 1-Osun, 1-Bayelsa.

“For a breakdown, Lagos State currently has 1845, FCT-356, Kano-597, Ogun-117, Osun-37, Gombe-110, Katsina-156.

Also, Borno recorded 185, Edo-79, Oyo-64, Kwara-32, Akwa Ibom-17, Bauchi-181, Kaduna-98, Ekiti-15, Ondo-15, Delta-17, Rivers-21, Jigawa-116 cases.

Similarly, Enugu recorded six cases, Niger-6, Abia-2, Zamfara-72, Sokoto-106, Benue-2, Anambra-1, Adamawa-17, Plateau-15, Imo-3, Taraba 17, Bayelsa 6, Ebonyi 5, Kebbi 14, Nasarawa-26, and Yobe 4.
