Bauchi state governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed suspended Caretaker Chairman, his Deputy and Secretary of Misau Local Government Area, as a result of mayhem errupted over a farmland dispute on Monday.
It could be recalled that reports indicated that there was a clash between Fulani herders and Fulani farmers with other residents in the area which claimed 9 lives and leave many injured.
The governor who disclosed this to news men shortly after emergency meeting with state security agencies and traditional rulers, Miyyati Allah Association with other stakeholders in the area.
The governor also inaugurated investigative panel to check how the crises imanets from district of Zadawa and environs and give a recommendation to avert feature reoccurance.
“We have also discussed extensively and taking opinion legal and administrative and therefore investigative panel was setup to be headed by Air vice Marshal (rtd) Tijjani Gamawa, with representative of security agencies with chairman house committee on security, and others, to look at all challenges and comeup with report on this matter within 3 weeks and we directed securities in the state to be mobilized under the police commissioner’s control, so that we can provide security in the intrim”
“We are calling on all citizens of Misau and Bauchi to be law abiding, that anybody found to be having a hand in this including members of traditional institutions will be decisively delt with”.
But for the time being “we know that traditional institution have some lapses here and there in the matter, but certainly because of justice and equity we will wait untill we get the report on jugducial and investigation committee before we take decision” he said.
Therefore, the governor commisurate with the people and the families of the desist and beared with them in Misau area where the crises errupted
Earlier, governor Bala announced the appointment of Malam Isah Kufai a former Chairman of Toro LGA as an administrator to take charge of Misau LGA.
