Minister wants concerted efforts against COVID-19 in FCT

The minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory ,FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has called for more concerted efforts among FCT stakeholders in the fight against coronavirus pandemic across the territory.

She stated this during the unveiling of FCT Health news magazine published by the Health and Human Services Secretariat ,HHSS, in Abuja.

The minister who was represented by her Special Assistant on FCT focal persons and social investment, Mrs Chinwendu Amba, said there was the need for continued cooperation among the health workers and residents to defeat COVID-19 pandemic.

According to her, no efforts or commitment will be too much in containing the virus within the nation’s Captial.

“We have to continue with our struggle to defeat COVID-19 pandemic in FCT, since it started we have been doing our best with the support of all the stakeholders but there is need for more commitment.

“The FCT Administration under the watch of the minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello is doing well in this fight, even beyond but we must not relax, especially the health workers, as the leaders, we will not relevant in supporting you people” she said.

Mrs. Amba acknowledged the commitment of the minister of FCT, Malam Bello for putting in all measures that are needed to win the fight against the pandemic.

In his address, the acting director, FCT Hospitals Management Board, Dr Francis Alu assured the minister and FCT residents that quality health care services in FCT will not be compromised.

Alu said the Health news magazine was a concept that is aimed at keeping the residents a breast of the health happenings in the territory.
