Ganduje Appoints Salihi KIRS Executive Chairman

Kano state Govenor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has appointed Abdurrazak Datti Salihi as the new Executive Chairman of Kano Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).

Salihi replaced Bala Muhammad Inuwa.

Ganduje, however, commended Inuwa for a job well done and urged Salihi to build on the legacies of his predecessor.

He said, “the appointment is with immediate effect,” adding that Inuwa did his best to reposition KIRS, “we are delighted for his courage and dedication to KIRS while captaining the ship as Acting Chairman from March this year to date.”

Ganduje added that Inuwa, who doubled as Managing Director of Kano State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO), as well as the Acting Executive Chairman of KIRS, would continue on his substantive Managing Director position at KASCO.

The AUTHORITY reports that the new Executive Chairman, Salihi, is an experienced financial analyst, a Chattered Accountant, and a certified Tax Accountant, with over 20 years experience and skills in financial management, in both banking and private sector.

Until his appointment, he was the Director, State Integrated Financial Management Information System (SIFMIS), of the Kano State Ministry or Finance.

He held different professional positions, including Director Personal Income Tax (PIT), Kano State Internal Revenue Service.

He was Head of Finance/Regional Accountant, Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Kano Zonal office, Manager, Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative and Rural Development Bank (NACRDB), in Sokoto state and Head of Finance of the same bank, amongst many other positions he held.

Ganduje called on the new Executive Chairman to work hard and work closely with the staff so as to scale up Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state for the overall development of Kano and its people.
