FCT school principals must comply to COVID-19 rules- SEB boss

The chairman FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB), Yahaya Musa Muhammad has said all school principals must comply to the COVID-19 safety guidelines issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC,.

He said the board would not spare any principal or school that fail to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols especially as schools had reopened for the existing classes.

Muhammad in an interview at the weekend, disclosed that all schools in the FCT have been provided with necessary medical items that will help in preventing the students from contracting coronavirus pandemic.

“We have make provision for thermometer, hand sentizer, facemasks and liquid hand washing soap for all schools in the six Area Councils. No school principal will be spared if he or she violates the safety protocols.

“In view of this, the board has started a schedule visit to all the schools, we have arrange ourselves in group A, B and C to go round all the schools and ensure compliance” he said.

The board chairman said in line with the NCDC guidelines, all FCT schools are to accept only 20 students per a class at most 25.

He also explained that any school head that flout the rules will be either quried or redeployed.

According to him, most of the infrastructure in schools have been fixed since students were at home for COVID-19 stay at home break.
