Akpabio has no case with EFCC – GPMI replies Sowore

The President General, Global Peace Movement International UK Dr. Mike Uyi has replied a self acclaimed human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore over his comments on the former Governor of Akwa-Ibom state and former Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio that he paid N6billiin to become a minister.

Dr. Uyi in a statement on Sunday said Sowore is a known fake news manufacturer and mischief maker who want to use lies, disinformation and empty propaganda to hoodwink unsuspecting Nigerians in to supporting his unpopular anti-government movement.

According to Uyi, Akpabio was named by President Buhari as one of the ministerial nominees sent to the Senate on Monday, July 22 based on his excellent performance while he was the governor of Akwa-Ibom state.

“It is laughable that Sowore in his usual inconsistency refer to Godswill Akpabio as Goodluck Akpabio. We wish to educate Sowore and his co sponsors that Godswill Akpabio did not pay any money to become a minister”.

“Senator Goodwill Akpabio is the only Governor in Nigeria that has bagged Honorary Doctorate Degree in Management Science in NIgeria Defence Academy best in Africa since it became an Awarding Degree Institute”.

“Where is corruption when there’s Development, Senator Goodwill Akpabio remains the best governor in Nigeria since 1960 in terms of infrastructural Development in an obscured state in Nigeria”.

“Is Sowore telling the world that Godswill Akpabio bribed President Buhari to make him a minister?.

“Akwa-Ibom state governor did not recommend Godswill Akpabio for Ministerial appointment but President Buhari unanimously did based on his 8 years Legacies and performance in Akwa- Ibom state as a governor”.

On the issue of curruption, Dr. Uyi said the former Akwa Ibom governor does not have any case with the EFCC or any other anti-graft agency in the country.

“It is true that a petition was filed against the senator at the EFCC by an Abuja-based lawyer soon after Senator Akpabio left office as Akwa-Ibom state governor in 20I5. These cases were thoroughly investigated by the EFCC. The petitioner then withdrew the petition when he could not substantiate his allegations and the EFCC could not establish the veracity of the allegations in the petition”.

Uyi further stated that Godswill Akpabio’s legacies can not be overemphasied by any progressive Nigeria. “It will interest Nigerians to know that Senator Goodwill Akpabio, the Nigeria Minister for Niger Delta has no Foreign account anywhere in the world as investigated by GPMI in year 2015 in 45 countries”

Uyi also advise EFCC TO STOP attending to unverifiable Petitioners with no pedigree

GPMI UK therefore advised Nigerians to ignore Mr. Sowore, describing him as the real enemy of the masses because of his mischievous activities and that of his disinformation machinery known as Sahara Reporters.
