From Pwanagba Agabus, Jos

An APC group under the aegis of Concern Group of Plateau South Senatorial District has called for the disqualification of Prof. Nora Daduut from participating in the forthcoming party’s primaries scheduled for 3rd September, 2020.

The group also threaten to seek legal action if the Daduut is allowed to participate in the exercise.

In a petition addressed to the State APC Chairman and the party’s leadership in the six LGAs of the zone dated 24th August, 2020, made available to journalists in Jos the State Capital, titled: Staging a Nasty Impunity in the forthcoming APC Primary Election for the Southern Senatorial District; alleged that the aspirant has furnished the Secretariat with falsified documents over her membership of the party.

The petition signed by  Zuwaira Waziri from (Wase LGA), Festus Blangnaan from (Qua’an Pan LGA), Muhammed Bawa (Wase LGA), Abubakar Abdullahi from Shendam LGA, Ayuba Daniang Qua’an Pan LGA, Nansel Dennis Langtang South LGA, Solomon David Mikang LGA, Ponfa Joshua Langtang North LGA, Amina Usman Shendam LGA, are representatives of the group from the six councils that make up the senatorial district.

It reads: “We the undersigned are card carrying members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“As loyal and law abiding citizens of the country and particularly Plateau South Senatorial District which is our constituency; we wish to at this material time draw the attention of our great party that an attempt of impunity is being staged in our dear APC.

The Group maintained that as party men and women who worked tirelessly for the enthronement of APC in the state, “We wish to state that the Executive Governor of Plateau State is about to imposed or hoist an aspirant on the electorates (Delegates) in the forthcoming APC primaries election schedule to the 3rd September, 2020.”

According to the group, “To put the records straight, the said Governor Lalong’s anointed candidate is not a party woman, she does not possess the capacity to lead the party at whatever level let alone an aspirant of our great party in the forthcoming primary election.

“Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut doesn’t even have a voters card as required by the guidelines of the party and also as one of the document to be attach with the Nomination Form.

“We pray to state here without any string or  sentiment that the information she presented to the National Secretariat is nothing but a bunch of falsehood which has the mandate of derailing the rising love and hope of our party by populace.

“Also the name of Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut is not in the register of our party at whatsoever level”, the group explained.

“Sir, it is this same person who is yet to abreast herself with our party programmes, vision and mission that Governor Lalong is staging in a grand style character to impose on the delegates in the forthcoming primary election.”

The group cautioned the party not to fall into what befell Zamfara State APC in the last general elections, but however said it might seek legal action if the party give deaf ears to the issues raised.

“It is important to note that if this woman is imposed on us, we will vehemently resist and recourse to legal channel to reclaim the stolen mandate.

“As party men and women, if this woman emerge as the party’s candidate, it has the propensity of endangering our party by the opposition parties and we cannot stop the outrage episode that greeted the Zamfara State APC.

“We will, and we cannot allow this to happen to our great party. We hope that this complain will be accorded the desired attention”, the group stressed.

It would be recalled that Senator Ignatius Longjan passed on over six months, ago, and plans to replace him has been breeding silent crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state, especially in Plateau South.

Recently, the Council Chairman of Quaan Pan LGA, Mr Isaac Kwallu, was suspended and later impeached.

According to sources from the party, it was because he indicated interest to contest for the vacant Senate seat, which the powers that be in the party from that zone are not comfortable with.

It was gathered that the powers that be from Plateau South want a loyalist of the governor to secure the seat for him come 2023, so that as he is rounding up his second term, he can then move to the Senate.
