Vaccination: Ganduje Procures Speed Boats For Health Workers

Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has procured speed boats to enable health workers engaged in vaccination exercise have access to riverine communities in the hinterlands.

This is to overcome the challenges posed by recent downpour across the state.
The Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, Dr. Tijjani Hussain presented the speed boats to primary health workers.

According to him, , the state government deemed it necessary to employ the use of the speed boats so as to enable health workers at the primary level have access to communities surrounded by water.

Dr. Tijjani who was represented by Director, Disease Control and Epidemiology, Dr. Sharif Yahaya, further stated that the gesture is geared towards ensuring that such communities are not left out in terms of vaccine and other exercises aimed at preventing out break of diseases in the state.

He added that, “the state government, considering the rainy season which causes rise in the state dams and other water bodies in the state, decided to provide the boats as health workers find it difficult accessing such areas with the boats being the first of its kind in the state.”

He said the people of Dawakin Kudu and Bagwai are the first to benefit from the speed boat initiative, while efforts are being made to extend the gesture to other areas of the state.
He charge the workers to make judicious use of the boats in carrying out their primary assignments effectively.
