As a crypto expert, Thembi Portia Shilenge is as good as they come. Since 2016, she has increasingly moved towards crypto currency in her employment and gradually put behind her, the chemical engineering background that launched her career. At 27, she had become a full-time crypto advocate and investor.
Thembi Shilenge is a classic example of putting the horse before the cart for a smooth journey. She did not jump on the bandwagon without preparation, neither did she come this far by chance. She had worked deliberately with her eyes focused on becoming an authority in issues concerning digital currency, and in that regard, she is not a crypto upstart.
While Thembi Shilenge has a chemical engineering background, having studied the discipline at university, and having worked variously in that field with SABMiller Plc, Amalunga Minerals, ChromTech Holdings, Department of Public Works, Kroondal Platinum Mine and Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, she has also built a track record in cryptocurrency trading and investment over a period of five years of working for major and significant companies for whom bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are central to their business.
Thembi Shilenge’s work with Binance since 2016 has given her four years of learning all that is there to learn from one of the leaders in cryptocurrency. She has also garnered experience here and there by working also for other similar companies along the way. These include a Euro asset management company called Atlantic Global Asset Management LP, BitClub Network , a crypto-trading company in Randburg and Madrid, Spain-based asset management investment company, Questra World.
Her work experience at NEXUS Global Limited as sales executive for the Frankfurt, Germany-based company also added depth to her expertise of cryptocurrency and digital investments.
Thembi Shilenge’s work experience as marketing director from 2018 to 2019 at Learning Enterprises Organisation Ltd which renders training in digital currency, forex and investment in the UK, makes her an all-round crypto enigma: an advisor and an investor.
