Union disburses 2000 buses to farmers, cooperatives

The Nigeria Cooperative Acquisition Asset Scheme (ACAAS) has disbursed a total of two thousand (2000) buses to farmers and cooperatives societies across the country.

The project coordinator, Mr. Olakunle Jeff said ACAAS in conjunction with the federal government is disbursing two thousand (2000) buses to most viable cooperatives societies and farmer to ease their transportation problem.

He said the buses will not be given out free of charge but the beneficiaries will have to pay back for the period of three (3) years, adding that, this would be done on capital based.

The coordinator pointed out that, the stakeholders are working out the modalities towards the disbursement of the buses.

He said, only farmers will go for cargo vans, stressing that, members of the public will also benefit from the scheme.

He said the disbursement of the buses would commence as soon as president Muhamadu Buhari fix date for official flag off.

The Initiator of the programme, Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume said giving the items through the cooperative it would be easy to recover.
