Police nab 3 kidnap suspects at Awkuzu, Oyi council area, rescue victim

Police operatives attached to the Anambra State Police Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) have arrested three man Syndicate who abducted a twenty-four years old lady in Awkuzu under the pretext of Securing a Job for her.

A release signed by the Police Public Relation Officer Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed stated that the suspects , Ekwugha Innocent Chinazo aged twenty-five years of Mgbguzo Awkuzu, Chidiebere Ogoegbunam aged twenty-four years of Egbu Awkuzu and, David Nnaemeka aged nineteen years of same address had on the September thirteen 2020 lured the twenty-four years old lady residing at ST Michael hostel Temp side Awka under the pretext of securing for her a beauty make up job, picked her up at Ukpo junction along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and took her to an isolated building at Awkuzu where they allegedly raped the victim repeatedly while in captivity for two days despite collecting ransom of four hundred thousand Naira from her relatives.

The release stated that the suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and the victim was taken to the hospital for medical Examination.

According to the release investigation is still ongoing after which suspects would be brought to book.
Consequently, the Command enjoined the public to be wary of this new trend of crime and report suspicious persons through the police emergency number 07039194332 or the nearest police station for prompt response.

Meanwhile, the Anambra Police operatives attached to Nnewi Division have arrested one Emeka Ezimadu aged forty-seven-years of Okpuneze, Uruagu Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area for allegedly killing his two children and aged mother.

According to a release signed by the Police Public Relation Officer, Anambra state Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, the suspect allegedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be ascertained, attacked and killed two of his biological children namely Ifechukwu Ezimadu aged nine years, Mmeso Ezimadu aged two years and his own mother one Agnes Ezimadu aged eighty-five years of same address allegedly with a cutlass while they were sleeping.

The release stated that the suspect equally used same offensive weapon and injured his three other children, namely Nonso Ezimadu aged twelve years, Chinaemerem Ezimadu aged eleven years and Ngozi Ezimadu aged eight years of same address.

The police detectives visited the Scene and rushed victims to the Akwudo hospital for medical attention where the two children and the aged mother were certified dead by a medical doctor while the three other children are receiving treatment and the corpses deposited at Akwudo hospital morgue for autopsy and case transferred to State CID Awka for discreet investigation.
