AMAC marshal guard gets operational licence

The Abuja Municipal Area Council ,AMAC, Marshal Guard has been granted operational licence by the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Chairman of the council, Hon Abdullahi Candido while presenting the national operational licence to the Marshal General on Wednesday in Abuja, said with the licence the guard was free to go about its normal activities without any intimidation.

He said the AMAC Marshal Guard was established in August, 2016 but its operation was affected by non operational licence.

Candido also granted the guard autonomous to be an independent body that would establish relationship with cooperate institutions on how to raise more resources and fund it activities.

He said, “AMAC Marshal Guard, with the operational licence it can go and do business anywhere with any private guard, and you are free to operate as guided by the law.What is expected of us is to find sustainability and continuity to remain in business.

“AMAC Marshal is now autonomous, the company can go out and do business except in area of supervision that the council will come in. Go out and get more clients and do business. our role is to ensure that the business is running” he said.

He called on the Marshal General to partner with institutions in order to improve the capacity and ability of the staff.

The chairman directed that founding Marshal guards should be upgraded to the next rank in line with the policies and direction, with their salary review accordingly.

He explained that his administration had set up four companies since it came on board in 2016, he listed them to include AMAC Marshal, AMAC Microfinance Bank, AMAC Investment and Property Development Company all licenced and functioning.

“AMAC Community Radio is liecenced by the law and would soon start operation, anytime we leave the area council we will be proud because our dreams have been fulfilled”

Responding, the Marshal General, Kassim Chicha said the organisation would always assist security agencies in combating crime in the society.

“We will continue to work in line with the laid down rules. We will do our best” he said.
