PG hails Gov Ugwuanyi for restoring peace in their community

The President General of Ahani -Achi Development Union[ADU] in Oji River local government area of Enugu state,Hon Kingsley Eze,has expressed gratitude to the Enugu state Governor,Rt Hon,Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for restoring peace in his community and assured that his administration will maintain the tempo while working on initiatives that  would ginger development of Ahani -Achi community.

Hon Kingsley Eze who prior to his election was appointed as a special assistant to Governor Ugwuanyi made the remarks in his acceptance speech after the inauguration of members of his Town Union executive by the state ministry of rural development on Wednesday,April 21, at the office of the commissioner for rural development,located within  Enugu state workers secretariat.


Hon Eze also expressed gratitude to the state ministry of rural development for the peaceful conduct of the election. 

He assured that his executive will work harmoniously with all stakeholders across board in the course of sustaining peace in the community. He said his administration will strive hard to engage the Youths to imbibe good cultural values and   gainful means of survival as a strategy of curtailing crime rate in Ahani Achi community.


Speaking earlier, the state commissioner for rural development, Chief Emeka Mammah, tasked the new town union of Ahani Development Union[ADU]  to focus more emphasis on projects that will enhance development of the community and re orientate the Youths on the vitality of embracing agriculture and economic tree planting as common measures of creating self employment and overcoming hunger. 


Chief Mammah, who was represented by a director in the ministry,Mr Godwin Ezeilo urged the newly elected executive of Ahani -Achi Development Union;[ADU] to always approach the ministry for necessary advice and support at any point in time they have serious challenge.

Moreso,to work harmoniously with their traditional institution but must avoid encroaching on matters relating to tradition and culture of the people,since that are the sole responsibility of the traditional rulers.   


The traditional ruler of Ahani -Achi community. Igwe Dr Raph Nzekwe,who witnessed the inauguration commended Governor Uguanyi for appointing men with proven integrity and experience as members of his cabinet,stating that has endeared series of achievements recorded by his administration in Enugu state over the years. He commended the Enugu state ministry of rural development for living up to the challenges in resolving various problems emanating from the rural communities in Enugu state. 


The high point of the event was the issuance of certificate of returns to the newly elected members of Ahani Achi Development Union.They include Hon Kingsley Eze, the President General, the Vice President General, Mr Okechukwu Iloegbunam, the Secretary General,Mr Ihudiebube Chijioke.


Others include Mr Maurice Okafor, a veteran journalist who currently is the Enugu Editor of The AUTHORITY Newspaper, Mr Raphael Oha,who emerged as the Treasurer and the assistant secretary, Mr Christopher Onuzulike, among others.
