Insecurity: APC South East APC postpones mega rally

 Amidst heightened security challenges in the zone, the South East zonal leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has in a shocking manner postponed indefinitely the much talked about mega rally, which would also marked the unveiling of the party’s newly acquired zonal secretariat in Enugu

Yhe AUTHORITY gathered relioably that much promoted mega rally, which was initially fixed for today, Friday April 30, has been put off indefinitely.

The growing insecurity in the zone and generally across the country is said to have informed the decision to cancel the rally.

The South has of recent turned into a theatre of war with the incessant burning and killing of [police stations and officers, as well as the recent burning of the residence of the Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as well as the killing of IPOB commander, Ikonso, in Awomamma, Oru East local government area of Imo state by a combined team of security operatives

The rally which was scheduled to hold at the famous Okpara square would have been attended by the party delegates and representatives from the five states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo to show case their strength, ahead of the party’s expectations to gain more grounds in the South East zone.

In addition, the party’s major stakeholders from the Presidency would have used the opportunity to commission the newly established zonal secretariat, located at No 80 Nza street, Independence layout, Enugu.

The AUTHORITY gathered that every arrangement has been made by the various state chapters of the party in the South East zone, to mobilise and ensure their members attend in large numbers.

Also, banners and stickers promoting the mega rally have been in display at major locations in Enugu metropolis and off the city.
