GPMI condemns attack on security personnel in Nigeria

Global Peace Movement International UK on Sunday condemned the rising attacks on police stations and killing of police officers and other security personnel in Nigeria by unknown gun men.

In a communiqué issued in London after their meeting, GPMI, however, called for the establishment of state police to help stem the upsurge of criminal activities of bandits and killer herdsmen across the country.

President General, Global Peace Movement International, Dr. Mike Uyi expressed serious concern about the deteriorating security situation nationwide, ranging from farmers-herders crisis, incessant kidnapping and raping on the roads, cultism and attacks on security agents by gun men.

“GPMI condemn in totality the barbaric attack on Police Command’s in Nigeria Correctional Centre headquarters, the military and some security agencies as well as government properties”

“There is no justification for such a heinous and condemnable attack targeted against innocent security personnel on legitimate duty of protecting life and property”.

“Killing of Police men and women should be seen as an abomination. We know our Police have not done too well in the past but at least a new Sheriff is in charge, and needed to be given a chance to reorganize the Police Departments”.

“If we allow these criminals to weaken our security agencies, they will revert to us and make the states more ungovernable for all the citizens.”

“GPMI condemn this heinous act, share the grief of the security agencies and convey our sincere condolences.’’
