N-Power: Group advocates for improved participation of physically challenged in FG’s Social Investment programmes

South East Support for N-Power and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, SESNAM,
has visited Ebonyi in its campaign for increased participation of physically challenged persons in N-power and other national social investment programme.

The programme which held at Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Friday, was targeted at physically challenged youths who trooped out in their numbers.

The South East N-power Ambassadors, reaffirmed the authenticity of the programsmes stressing that it was initiated for every Nigerian from the age of 18-35.

Speaking through Amb, Akwuobi Emeka the group explained that the advocacy is aimed at promoting social investment programmes created by federal government to help the youths.

Amb. Emeka lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for creating employment for youths in the east and Nigeria in general through social investment programs.

“We are here to promote social investment programs such as, N-power, Conditional Cash Transfer programme (CCT); Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program, (GEEP) and Home Grown School Feeding Program, (HGSF), initiated by the federal government of Nigeria.

“The South East Support group for N-Power are here to create awareness on these programs because of its authenticity and to tell the whole world what the federal government is doing in the East through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

“We thank Mr President for giving us a youth loving and vibrant Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faroug. Today youths have gained in this program ranging from employment, skill capacity to stay on their own and employ others”, He said.

Earlier in an open remark, the Public Relations Officer, SESNAM, Mr William Ugbor, charged the disabled to sit up and benefit from the program, stressing that the programm was created for every Nigerian.

He however, encouraged them to their disability is not a barrier towatds benefitting from the government programme.

He assured that they would be provided with the necessary documents to ensure they key in on the programmes ànd benefit like others.

“We are here to tell you about the federal government programs which was initiated to empower youths. The program is for everybody. There is no different between you and other Nigerians that are benefiting from the program. You’re disabled but capable. We will bring the forms for you to fill to reduce the stress encountered while trying to fill the form in cyber cafe.

“There is nothing other Nigerians are doing that you cannot do. Our President, Buhari has made it possible for Nigerian youths to be employed through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and you are not in exceptional. N-Power is empowering Nigerians who are between 18 and 35 years with a monthly living pay. Qualified youths have benefited, many more will benwfit “, He said.
