Remains of ex-minister Aisha Al-Hassan laid to rest In Jalingo, Taraba state

The remains of a former Minister for Women Affair, Aisha Al-Hassan and APC gubernatorial candidate for 2015 general election, Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhansan had been laid to rest in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

Aisha was popularly known as “Mama Taraba”, her burial was attended by thousands of mourners across the state. She died on 5th May, 2021 in Cairo Hospital, Egypt after months of treatment of undisclosed illness.

The interment was performed according to the Islamic rite.

Speaking on lifestyle of deceased, the former Commissioner of Information, Taraba State Mr. Aminu Jika who spoke on his political relationship with the late Minister asserts that

”the state has lost a great politician whose position will be hard to be replaced.”

” Aisha Al-Hassan was a great politician who contributed to the growth of Taraba State and the Nation at large she will be greatly missed,” he said.

Some residents of Jalingo, her home town, also spoke about the life and times of the late Minister, saying ”she was a mother to everyone.”

“Mama Taraba was a mother to all irrespective of tribe, religion and gender. She treats everyone equally and she is a great philanthropist, we will surely miss her and we pray for her soul to rest in peace,” they said.

The late Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan was born on the 16th of September, 1959 in Jalingo, Taraba State to Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim.
