As stakeholders continue in their agitation for a Nigerian President of South East extraction in 2023, the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has declared that all political offices in the ruling party will be throw open to all party members irrespective of their zones
Chairman of the forum, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State stated this in a statement he endorsed on Friday to welcome Governor. Ben Ayade, of Cross River State to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
The Cross River State Governor announced his defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC, after a meeting with the National Chairman of the APC Caretaker and Extra Ordinary Convention Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state and other governors and leaders of the party on Thursday
Governor Bagudu who joined other leaders and members of the party to welcome. Ayade to the APC, described his defection as a testament of the party’s capacity to mobilise all Nigerians, consistent with the vision of the founding fathers, adding that the APC is a platform to unite all Nigerians.
“The coming of Mr. Ayade into the APC further reinforces the process of membership and leadership recruitment at all levels. “We congratulate our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, whose sterling qualities and fair mindedness endear patriotic Nigerians to the party. Mr. President’s credentials as a fair leader who is impartial will continue to promote our party and serve as a major source of electoral advantage. He assured that the progressive reinforcement of the party will continue. adding that the APC is looking forward to receiving more patriots and progressive minded Nigerians into the party.
