FCTA tasks women on youth development

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has called on women to assist the government to improve on areas that will add value to the youths.


Director, FCTA Human Resource Management, Bashir Mohammed made the call  when he recieved FCT Indigenous Women Forum on a courtesy visit to his office, recently.


He explained that FCT Administration will continue to do well if the women who are key actors in the development of family values, keep to their roles.


Mohammed  said, “FCT women should continue to support the government in developing the city, by encouraging the youths to champion ideas that will impact positively on the city.


“Government needs the full cooperation  of all especially the women because of their closeness to the younths, so the women should always encourage them to contribute to the development of Abuja”


The Director told the women that FCT Administration is keen on issues that will have direct impact on them, and they should work with the Administration towards developing the city.


In her remarks, chairperson of FCT Indigenous Women Forum, Esther Tawasimi sought for FCTA’s help in area of appointing women as Directors in FCT departments, agencies and boards.


She said the women are not being carried along, “most of our women are at home those who have served in the FCTA/Area Councils who retired as Directors, the minister of FCT should consider them and other women for political appointment.


“Many of our daughters who have graduated from schools are at home doing nothing, we appeal to the FCT Administration led by Malam Muhammad Bello to kindly consider their employment/ empowerment”
